SleepSupply
Track your CPAP and sleep equipment in one place
The Problem
CPAP therapy is a daily commitment, but keeping track of when to replace filters, cushions, tubing, and other supplies is surprisingly hard. Most users either forget replacements entirely (risking hygiene and therapy effectiveness) or replace things too early, wasting money. There's no built-in way on the machines themselves to track supply lifecycles across different components, each with its own replacement schedule.
- No centralized tracking: replacement intervals differ per component (filters every 2 weeks, cushions every 3 months, etc.) and there's no easy way to manage them all
- Forgotten replacements: dirty or worn-out supplies reduce therapy pressure and can cause skin irritation or infections
- No spending visibility: CPAP supplies add up, but most users have no idea what they're spending annually
At one point I forgot to replace the cushion and my therapy efficacy decreased dramatically. It got me thinking: can I solve this problem? It's a very niche problem, but others were looking for a solution too.
The Solution
Supply Tracking
Built a full equipment catalog where users can add any CPAP or BiPAP component (machines, masks, tubing, filters, humidifier chambers) and set custom replacement intervals for each. The app calculates days remaining and uses color-coded urgency indicators so you can tell at a glance what needs attention.
- Track any CPAP/BiPAP equipment with custom categories
- Per-item replacement schedules with automatic countdown
- Color-coded status indicators (green/yellow/red) for urgency at a glance
Smart Reminders
Local notifications alert users when maintenance tasks are due, with configurable lead times. Reminders are tied to each piece of equipment's replacement cycle, so users get useful alerts without setting them up manually.
- Automatic notifications based on each item's replacement schedule
- Configurable reminder timing (e.g., 3 days before, day of)
- Color-coded urgency levels in the reminder list
iCloud Sync
All data syncs through CloudKit, so users see the same equipment list and status on every Apple device they own. No accounts to create, no sign-in flow. It just works with the user's existing iCloud account.
Key Features
Equipment Catalog
Add any CPAP component with custom categories, photos, purchase dates, and replacement intervals.
Replacement Alerts
Automatic local notifications when supplies are due, with color-coded urgency so nothing slips through.
HealthKit Integration
Sync sleep data from Apple Health to view therapy trends alongside your equipment usage timeline.
Data Export
Export equipment history and spending data as PDF or CSV reports for insurance claims or personal records.
Results
Launched on the App Store with a freemium model. The free tier covers basic tracking (2 equipment items, 5 inventory items), and a one-time Premium purchase unlocks unlimited everything, export reports, HealthKit sync, and an ad-free experience.
- Freemium conversion driven by power users who outgrow the free tier's item limits
- Zero-subscription model. Premium is a one-time lifetime purchase, and users appreciate not dealing with yet another subscription
